Integrity, professionalism, and mutual respect form the foundation of our anaesthesiology community. This Code of Conduct outlines the ethical standards and behavioral expectations for all members of ISA Telangana.
Professional Guidelines
This Code of Conduct establishes the professional, ethical, and organizational standards expected from all ISA Telangana members. It aims to promote integrity, respect, patient safety, professional excellence, and unity within the Society.
- Maintain the highest standards of medical ethics and professional conduct.
- Prioritize patient safety, dignity, confidentiality, and informed consent.
- Practice anaesthesia according to accepted professional and scientific standards.
- Keep professional knowledge and skills up to date through continuing education.
- Avoid discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or inappropriate professional behaviour.
Code of Behaviour
Members shall:
- Treat patients, colleagues, students, staff, and the public with courtesy and respect.
- Communicate honestly, professionally, and respectfully.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and Society-related information.
- Avoid personal attacks, offensive language, bullying, or defamatory statements.
- Maintain professional conduct during meetings, conferences, online platforms, and social media.
- Respect differences of opinion and resolve disagreements through constructive discussion.

Conflict of Interest
- Members must disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest.
- Personal, financial, or professional interests must not improperly influence Society decisions.
- Society positions, resources, and information must not be used for personal benefit.
Society Roles & Responsibilities
Members are expected to:
- Follow the Constitution, Rules, Policies, and decisions of ISA Telangana.
- Participate responsibly in Society activities and meetings.
- Respect the authority and responsibilities of elected office-bearers and committees.
- Use Society funds, property, data, and resources responsibly.
- Protect the reputation and integrity of ISA Telangana.
Communication & Social Media Policy
- Official statements on behalf of ISA Telangana shall be made only by authorized representatives.
- Members should not misrepresent personal views as official Society positions.
- Patient information, confidential documents, or internal Society matters must not be shared without authorization.
- Social media communication should remain professional and respectful.
Meetings & Elections
- Members shall follow meeting procedures and election rules.
- Voting must be conducted fairly and without coercion, threats, or undue influence.
- Members shall respect election outcomes and established democratic processes.
- Disagreements regarding elections or Society decisions should be addressed through the prescribed grievance procedure.
Financial & Administrative Conduct
- Society funds shall be used only for authorized purposes.
- Financial records and transactions must be transparent and properly documented.
- Fraud, misappropriation, unauthorized expenditure, or misuse of Society resources is prohibited.
Harassment & Discrimination
ISA Telangana maintains a respectful environment free from:
- Harassment or sexual harassment
- Bullying or intimidation
- Discrimination
- Threatening or abusive behaviour
- Retaliation against a person who raises a genuine concern
Complaints & Disciplinary Action
- Members may report violations through the designated Society grievance mechanism.
- Complaints shall be handled fairly, confidentially, and according to applicable Society rules.
- Depending on the seriousness of the violation, disciplinary measures may include warning, reprimand, suspension, or termination of membership, subject to due process.
Compliance
All members, office-bearers, committee members, and volunteers of ISA Telangana are expected to comply with this Code of Conduct, the Society Constitution, applicable laws, and relevant professional standards.

By being a member of ISA Telangana, every member is expected to uphold professionalism, integrity, respect, patient safety, transparency, and the values of the Society.
